HISTORY

As a young man, Alfred Beagle served in World War I as a field medic and ambulance driver. Afterwards, as his father returned to England after the deaths of his employers, he felt bad about leaving young Bruce Wayne in the care of his uncle. On his father's deathbed, Alfred agreed to go America and work for his father's former charge and his new ward.

Unfortunately, no one thought to notify Bruce and Dick.

Arriving on their doorstep, they at first waived off his offers to take up service, but persistently Alfred stayed on. The duo tried to hide their crime-fighting activities but were ultimately unsuccessful. Wanting to indulge his new "Mawsters", Alfred threw himself into the role wholeheartedly, taking on a detective course, improving his self-defense skills and learning how to maintenance the variety of machines and devices used in their super-heroic activities. He trimmed down his own weight and grew a distinguished mustache to more fit the role of manservant. He became a valuable asset to the crime fighting Wayne Household.
