HISTORY

The Strike Force is a team of mercenaries for hire, "the elite of America's underworld", well financed, well armed, and well trained. Formed by Arthur Pemberton, the original Number One of their ranks, the Strike Force met defeat at the hands of Star-Spangled Kid (I) and Wildcat (II). One of the escaped members picked up the mantle of Number One and re-formed the organization.

Vowing never to get involved with costumed crimefighters again, the new Number One led the Strike Force to a successful career out of the limelight. Recently, however, he was tempted to take on a mission from Doctor Cyber involving the Power Company. This became his downfall. After a humiliating defeat, Number One and the rest of the Strike Force are now serving time in prison.
