Synopsis:
As the JSA defeat Solomon Grundy once again, the android Hourman arrives, having intercepted the 'distress beacon' which Mister Terrific sent through time, asking for help in saving the second Hourman, Rick Tyler. Rex Tyler interrupts his reunion with his wife Wendi to accompany the android to the time point, along with Flash, Doctor Mid-Nite and Mister Terrific. Mid-Nite performs surgery on Rick, grievously injured during the JSA's adventure in Kahndaq, with assistance from the others. As Rick comes round, the last seconds run out in the hour which Rex and Rick have to spend with one another. Rex must return to his death at the hands of Extant, but Rick thinks he sees a loophole - if Hourman must die fighting Extant, it may as well be him. He leaps into the timestream to reach the Justice Society's fateful battle against Extant.
